The Flyway Forests Reforestation Project is a dedicated special-purpose vehicle (SPV) formed through a partnership between Ducks Unlimited and Land & Water Corp to deliver large-scale, high-integrity reforestation projects across the Lower Mississippi Valley..Ducks Unlimited (DU) — based in Memphis, Tennessee — is North America’s leading nonprofit dedicated to conserving wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife.

As the project implementation partner, DU designs and oversees all restoration activities and leads landowner engagement. With operations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, DU has conserved more than 18.2 million acres and is the fifth-largest accredited land trust in the United States.

For over 87 years, DU has built trusted partnerships with landowners throughout the Mississippi Valley, applying its deep ecological expertise to large-scale reforestation and habitat restoration initiatives.

‍Land & Water Corp, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Longmont, Colorado, is a private company specializing in funding, acquiring, developing, and operating infrastructure, service, and agricultural enterprises. As the project investor, Land & Water brings financial and operational expertise to ensure the long-term success and integrity of the Flyway Forests program.

Founded in 2022, Flyway Forests began as a shared vision to bring innovative, science-based land restoration to the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley.

By combining Land & Water Corporation’s experience in infrastructure and agricultural operations with Ducks Unlimited’s unmatched expertise in conservation and landowner partnerships, the two organizations launched Flyway Forests with selective enrollment beginning that same year.
